Technical tripartite webinar for the ratification campaign of ILO Conventions on Employment Service, and Private Employment Agencies

The tripartite webinar aims to raise awareness and increase the visibility of the campaign for the ratification and effective implementation of ILO Convention 88 and C181. the Employment Service Convention, 1948, (No. 88), and the Private Employment Agencies Convention, 1997, (No. 181). This webinar will inform about the progress of the campaign and present the experiences of a panel of ILO Member States that have ratified one or both conventions.

Representatives from countries and the Workers and Employers Groups will share lessons learnt and the impact of these ratifications (and their implementation) on their national labour markets. They will make emphasise and elaborate on how they overcome the challenges for their implementation.

The discussion will also focus on the relevance of C88 and C181 in promoting a human-centred recovery from the COVID-19 crisis that is inclusive, sustainable and resilient.

This interactive webinar aims to provide a launching platform to increase the visibility of the ratification campaign and stress the relevance of these instruments in supporting well-functioning labour markets and the policies that impact labour supply and labour demand, the matching of workers and jobs, and the acquisition of skills.

The webinar will take place on 12 May 10:00 – 12:00 Central European Time, via Zoom conference platform.
