ILO Green Week: A green recovery from COVID-19
The Green Jobs Open Dialogue Series will showcase how jobs feature at the heart of global action to protect the environment and promote climate-neutral and climate-resilient economies and societies.

The development of economic recovery responses to the COVID-19 crisis presents an opportunity to reverse unsustainable practices. By accounting for nature and institutionalizing a sustainability agenda, countries can boost prosperity and create green and decent jobs — promoting inclusive, resilient economies and a resilient planet.

Responding to the COVID-19 crisis, the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) is supporting its partner countries through assessing, monitoring and mitigating the socio-economic impacts. At present,14 countries have developed green recovery plans with PAGE support, integrating this additional planning into their respective plans for green economic transformation. This session will give an overview of some of PAGE's monitoring and modelling work for greening the economic recovery and take a closer look at South Africa's green recovery planning as a case study.
